Winnipeg Sonora Voices (WSV), formerly known as Pembina Trails Voices, is an award-winning auditioned choral program offered to children and young people, ages 5 – 28 years, in Winnipeg. The largest city choral program of its kind, WSV’s family of choirs has served the Winnipeg community for over 35 years.
Recent performing highlights include the world premiere of Jonah by Sid Robinovitch with the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra in April 2022, and guest appearances with the Winnipeg Singers, and with the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir performing Sir Paul McCartney’s Ecce Cor Meum in the 2023/2024 season.
Recent Awards


Our 2024/2025 season included a guest appearance with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the premiere of a new chamber arrangement of Sid Robinovitch’s musical drama Jonah and a performance with the Winnipeg Singers.
On April 12, 2026, WSV Cantemus and WSV Chamber Ensemble choristers will perform a brand-new work with the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra. This work was written for WSV and the MCO by Canadian composer Kein Lau, to be conducted by MCO conductor Anne Manson. They will also perform Ola Gjeilo’s Song of the Universal for Strings, piano and treble choirs, to be conducted by Valdine Anderson.
WSV’s city-wide choir organization for young people acknowledges generous support from its community, and by the Manitoba Arts Council, the Foundation for Choral Music in Manitoba and 2024’s Winnipeg Arts Council City of Song program.
